Rao and Milandeep Kaur"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Abstract<\/p>\n<p>The feminist movement is an ongoing reaction against the male definition of women. In most western societies men have dominated politics, society and the economy of their world. They have suppressed the voice of women so that they could mold it the way they wanted it. Thus they defined what was feminine as insubstantial, subservient and devoid of will. Feminine behavior was further emotion driven, illogical, and native and ought not to be taught to be anything else. Feminism has been changing the world for more than a century and the new viewpoint it has brought, given a new insight into the literature. In this regard, A Doll\u2019s House a great literary piece written by Henrik Ibsen played a great role. This paper, while acknowledging the play\u2019s impact and significance in the terms of women\u2019s rights and social restriction in general, attempts to place Ibsen\u2019s play in a contemporary context by feministic prospective.
