INCOME GENERATION ACTIVITIES OF CHILDREN LIVING ON STREET IN MUMBAI By Tushar Savarkar

 

Abstract

Children living on street are the most vulnerable section of our society. They stay and work without the family or adult member. Hence, they need to work for their survival. The present study aims to understand their income generation activities. The study has used simple frequency analysis to achieve the objective of the study. The findings indicate that a significant number of children were working at the time of survey. Though, the working hours vary from child to child, a significant proportion of children is work for a larger time. It affects their overall development. Therefore, there is a strong need to look into the matter by the policy makers, social activist, scholars, etc.
