Abstract The present paper elicits the various constitutional provisions for the care of destitute home children. There are groups of children who come from disadvantaged group of society as slum- dwellers, rural habitats, urban habitats and hill people. In addition to these groups, there is a group of children who are socially, economically, culturally and parentally deprived and are called destitute.
