Emerging Trends in Pedagogy in the Context of NEP 2020 By Pooja Sharma and Priya

Abstract

The term ‘pedagogy’ describes the ideas and procedures of teaching, as well as the techniques and approaches teachers employ to promote learning. Emerging trends of pedagogy involve the use of technology, employing innovative techniques and strategies in teaching-learning process. It also provides opportunities for special needs and talented students to pursue education at mainstream schools along with other normal students i.e. Inclusive Education. The major focus of modern pedagogy strategies is to promote joyful learning and active participation of students. The present paper focuses on some of the recent developed pedagogy strategies keeping in mind the goals NEP 2020, SDG 2015 and UNESCO’s framework of Happy School 2016 which focused on use of technology and promote inclusive education settings. Pedagogical practices determine the learning experiences arranged for the learners, thus directly influencing their learning outcomes. Success of teaching learning process is all depend on how teacher handle the classroom environment and learning of students, acting as parents of students to make friendly relationship, good skills of communication and presentation of materials in systematic and as per the level of students.  Therefore, the use of relevant pedagogy is necessary to achieve the objective of the curricula successfully; also, up-to-date pedagogy is the first need of effective teaching-learning process.
