Integration of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Hoisting Self Efficacy among Pre-Service Teachers By Sunitha M. S and Dr. Ampili Aravind

Abstract

Knowledgeable teachers are the core element in the educational system. Students always need quality teachers for their academic and intellectual development. Students are always expecting plenty of information from them and a quality teacher has knowledge about the subject matter, the way she shares the knowledge, if she/he is using the technology in the right way or whether it is interesting for the students to convey the subject matter. If the teacher has these qualities then confidently say that she has the perceived ability to perform well in the classroom. Preparing professional teachers is an important challenge in the present educational system.  Thus, this paper tries to answer these questions, is it necessary to develop pre-service teacher’s self-efficacy?, what are the strategies to develop pre service teachers’ technological pedagogical content knowledge?, how TPACK can be interrelate with self-efficacy?, thus, this paper explains a suggestive model to develop self-efficacy integrated with TPACK for pre service teachers.
